Tonali had been on loan in Milan for 2020-21, making 25 appearances as they finished in an impressive second place, qualifying for Champions League football in the process.
He joins Fikayo Tomori at the San Siro next season, with the ex-Chelsea man confirmed to be joining the club last month.
Giroud the next man in?
The Rossoneri are not done with their transfer business just yet either if reports are to believed.
They are looking to strengthen their squad in order to challenge cross-city rivals Inter Milan and powerhouses Juventus for the Serie A title, and have turned to Olivier Giroud to do so.

The Chelsea man signed a new contract in West London earlier in 2021, but this has not stopped speculation persisting around his future. With Timo Werner, Tammy Abraham and Kai Havertz all fully capable in the striker role for Chelsea, it seems likely that a move away could occur.
To make matters more worrying for the World Cup-winning forward, Thomas Tuchel’s side are strongly linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland, although it is a “very difficult” deal to achieve this summer.
#Chelsea are prepared to offer up to £150M for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer in the belief that such a huge bid will not be turned down by the Bundesliga side.
