Man Utd have been given permission to speak to Raphael Varane, apparently. But there is a long way still to go…

UNITED MAKE PROGRESS IN VARANE PURSUIT
It could be a huge week for Manchester United…

With the Euros out of the way, the Red Devils are keen to get the signing of Jadon Sancho done and dusted. The Sun says the England winger will have his medical in the next couple of days, with personal terms and a fee already agreed with Borussia Dortmund. Sancho, you would expect, will be unveiled sooner rather than later this week before he goes on holiday.

United also seem to be edging closer to a deal to sign Raphael Varane, though there are conflicting reports about how far down the line they are with the France defender.

Sky Sports reckons United have been given permission by Real Madrid to speak to Varane about personal terms. If an agreement is reached, then they will discuss a fee with Real, which seems a bit arse about face.

There has been talk of United chucking Paul Pogba or Donny van de Beek into the deal.

CITY NOT KEEN ON BARCA STAR AS KANE CHASE INTENSIFIES
Manchester City have also been linked with a France star

But The Sun suggests the champions have no real interest in Antoine Griezmann. Barcelona would be willing to let the attacker leave this summer – of course they would be, they’re broke – and with City in the market for an attacker, it was thought Pep Guardiola could be keen.

But City sources have made clear that Griezmann is not on their radar.

Harry Kane most definitely is. City would far rather invest their spending money in the Tottenham striker who, according to Tuttomercatoweb, has been the subject of a £115million bid from a mystery club.

City are also being linked with a move for Fulham defender Antonee Robinson.

The Daily Mail reckons City could pay £10million for the USA international, with Wolves also keen on the 23-year-old.

BARCA SWAP DEAL COULD THREATEN LIVERPOOL’S SAUL PLAN
Griezmann could find himself back at Atletico Madrid this summer.

That’s the claim of Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, who suggests Atletico and Barca have been talking about a swap deal involving Saul Niguez.

But the Daily Mail reckons Liverpool are leading the race for Saul, especially now Atletico have completed the signing of Rodrigo De Paul.

Atletico have also been credited with an interest in Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin, who the Metro claims has told the Gunners he wants to leave this summer.
