Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin will demand €30million (£25m) for Leeds United target Matheus Cunha, according to reports.

The 22-year-old is a talented forward who can operate centrally or out wide.

He notched seven league goals in 27 games last term as Hertha finished 14th in the German top flight.

Every completed Premier League transfer this summer

Following the end of the domestic campaign, Cunha travelled to the Tokyo Olympics to represent Brazil.

He put in some exciting displays as the five-time World Cup winners retained their Olympic title.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato) claims that Hertha have raised Cunha’s price tag as a result of his impressive performances at the Games.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team will have to spend just shy of their record fee to bring the Brazilian to England.

Their record signing is currently Rodrigo, who arrived from Valencia for £27m last summer.

LeedsLive state that the Whites are interested in Cunha as he is can play anywhere across the front line.

They already have top performers such as Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford and Raphinha in the squad but want to improve Bielsa’s options before the end of the transfer window.

The only problem for Leeds is that Cunha would not be able to feature in their Premier League opener against Manchester United.

He will enjoy a well-earned break after helping his country to international success.

The player is joined by Everton star Richarlison, who is also set to miss at least one game of the Premier League season.

Leeds have already improved their team with a number of impressive signings.

Full-back Junior Firpo was bought from Barcelona for £12.8m, while they completed the capture of Chelsea starlet Lewis Bate in July.

The latest arrival is 20-year-old shot-stopper Kristoffer Klaesson. Following plenty of rumours, he joined the Whites last week on a four-year contract.

Leeds director Victor Orta has also made Jack Harrison’s loan deal permanent for £11.5m.

He was previously on the books at Manchester City but was keen to continue his journey in Yorkshire.

Leeds drew 2-2 with Villarreal in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday.
