Paul Stewart believes Tottenham Hotspur should target Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham if Harry Kane forces through a move away from the club.

Kane has made no secret of the fact he is looking to leave his boyhood club this summer, with the England captain looking to challenge for more silverware elsewhere after growing frustrated with Spurs’ lack of progress on the pitch.

Last season’s Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker award winner has attracted interest from Manchester City, who are keen to secure Kane and Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish before the transfer window closes.

While Spurs are determined to keep Kane, the situation was made more difficult after the marksman failed to return to training after an extended pre-season break following his involvement at Euro 2020.

Stewart believes the north Londoners must pinpoint potential targets should Kane depart and has earmarked Abraham as an ideal replacement.

The striker, 23, has made just seven appearances since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s head coach in January.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, former Spurs man Stewart said: “We know Tammy Abraham is surplus at Chelsea, so he’s an option.”
